China's agricultural product trade share in the world 2002-2022, by type
In three years between 2020 and 2022, mainland China accounted for 12.9 percent of the global import value of agriculture products on average (not including fishing and forestry), making China the largest importer of agricultural products worldwide. China's global import share has increased considerably over the last 20 years, while its export share has not changed significantly. This illustrates China's growing dependence on the global market for the supply of food and other agricultural products.
